What's a domain name?

A domain name is the name of your website. The domain name for Marketing Genie is www.marketing-genie.co.uk. There are many domain names to choose from and we can register your chosen domain name on your behalf.

Web hosting - what is it and why do I need it?

Once you have chosen what you are going to call your website, you will then need web space or an Ecommerce package for the name to be linked to and to be able to upload your web pages to. Marketing Genie offer good value hosting packages which are scalable to your business requirements. Hosting is an annual charge, payable in advance which is non-refundable. Typical costs will range from £40-75 per annum to host your website.

How much webspace do I need?

This depends upon the type of content you are going to upload to your website and also the amount of traffic which you anticipate visiting your website - we can discuss this with you to match your requirements to our packages.

How do I obtain an email account which matches my website name?

Once you have your new website domain name registered, we can than arrange for you to have matching email addresses. For example, you have purchased the domain name www.fredbloggs.com, you can also have sales@fredbloggs.com set up as an email address. You can opt for just one or multiple different email addresses. We can effortlessly arrange for your new emails to be redirected to an existing email account which you may have.

How do I get ranked in Google and other search engines?
